Christmas 2012

So it's February and I am just now getting around to blogging about Christmas, that pretty much sums up how busy we have been lately!  I'm just going to keep this brief, and post mostly pictures.  We had a great Christmas at home with some of the family.  We always celebrate with my brother and his family since they live here.  Everyone goes to church and then comes to our house for Christmas Eve, which consists of soup and all kinds of snack foods, reading the Christmas story from the advent tree,  opening gifts, and stretching out because we all ate too much.  This year my parents were here as well, and Grandma went "overboard" on the gifts!!  She informed me that this is what grandmothers are supposed to do.

On Christmas Day we open what Santa left first thing in the morning.  The rule at our house is that no one can go downstairs to see the gifts until everyone is awake. This year Emerson did not get up at her usual 6:45 a.m. so the boys had to hang out upstairs until she woke up (8:00).  Chris and I had a lot of fun describing the wrapped packages left for them and how they should be excited.  It was pure torture, they were begging us to let them wake her up!

My brother hosts Christmas Day and this year my Grandfather came too.  It was a requirement to wear sweat pants, or so they told us.  Perhaps for all the eating we were about to do again!  It was a wonderful Christmas filled with many memories.

I didn't know if we could get this photo without tears, so this was a pleasant surprise!!

After church photo.

I do love my tree.

This is one of my favorite pictures! After several attempts to get a good picture I said "everyone funny face!"  Then said "how big is Reese and Emerson?" Up went the hands!!
